The Problem
Kitchen safety is crucial to protecting your customers, employees, and your business. Rubber slip resistant mats are a key component, but lets face it, they take some abuse. On a day to day basis they are pummeled with grease and food scraps. When grease builds up enough they can become a hazard. Dirty mats increase the risk of slips and falls. They are also a breeding ground for harmful bacteria, fungus and mold which gets tracked everywhere.
Additionally, anti-slippery floors face the same issues. When the floor becomes covered with oil and food scraps it creates an dangerous slick layer on the surface. Mats are more effective because the holes can capture slippery substances, keeping the surface safe to work on for longer.
Most facilities clean their mats or floors with a hose or with a mop and cleaning solution. Unfortunately, even then, many cleaning solutions (including neutral PH) are not recommended for use on mats because they can degrade the material.
These methods are not sufficient to prevent the growth of bacteria, fungus and mold or completely remove oils. The human eye has a tough time seeing anything smaller than 40 microns. Even if the mat looks clean, if its not disinfected, its still filthy.
Its a no-brainer that adding mats to your floors will dramatically reduce the risk of slip and falls and help to mitigate the spread of bacteria, fungus and mold. Additionally, they keep you in compliance with the California Department of Industrial Relations - Labor Enforcement Task Force ( LETF).
Permanent floors and platforms shall be free of dangerous projections or obstructions, maintained in good repair, and reasonably free of oil, grease, or water. Where the type of operation necessitates working on slippery floors, such surfaces shall be protected against slipping by using Mats, grates, cleats, or other methods which provide equivalent protection. Where wet processes are used drainage shall be maintained and false floors, platforms, Mats, or other dry standing places provided.
The Solution
Fresh & Disinfected Mats Every Week
Every week we change out your mats. We arrive with a fresh set of mats that have been disinfected and cleaned of oils and contaminates. These mats have been restored to their full potential. Reduced risk of slips and falls and cross contamination. We then take the dirty mats, treat them, and repeat the following week. This process has proven to be effective at reducing risk of slips and falls, cross contamination, and extending the life of commercial kitchen mats. Our process is also completely environmentally friendly!
